FOOD AND NUTRITION AT NORTHUMBRIA

The FNS research group support the development of nutritious sustainable food systems fit for 21st century social, economic, environmental and technological stresses.

We leverage partnerships with food industry colleagues to support innovation and research throughout the food supply chain.

We are engaged in charity and research council funded projects that aim to understand the links between diet and health, and to promote health and well-being in the north east and beyond.

Our research informs our postgraduate research training and our undergraduate taught programmes, and thus, through the production of highly skilled graduates, we aim to play a significant role in the regional and national food economy.
