What expertise will you bring to AI?

I hold a BSc and MRes in Psychology from ϲ, where I developed a strong foundation in both theoretical and applied aspects of the field. My research focuses on advanced research methods, particularly eye-tracking and qualitative techniques, and I am proficient in data analysis using R, SPSS, and Python. I have worked as a research assistant in both the Psychology and Nursing departments at ϲ, contributing to interdisciplinary projects in areas such as threat detection, victim blame, and healthcare evaluations. My recent work has included involvement in NHS-related initiatives, including training and recruitment programs, further broadening my research and practical experience in healthcare settings.

Research Interests

My current research interest focuses on hidden disabilities, specifically the development of tools to raise awareness of hidden disabilities. I am passionate about creating AI tools that can influence outcomes for those seeking help and support individuals in effectively communicating their disabilities to healthcare professionals and the general public. Additionally, I am excited to explore how AI, including natural language processing, generative models, and intelligent user interfaces, can be leveraged to enhance awareness and understanding of hidden disabilities through storytelling and interactive experiences.

What made you want to apply for CCAI?

I was drawn to the CCAI program because of its interdisciplinary focus, which aligned with my background in Psychology and my growing interest in technology and AI. The CCAI CDT’s emphasis on collaboration across fields excited me, as it allowed me to work with experts in areas that complement my own knowledge. I was eager to learn new AI methodologies and conduct research which is citizen centred for my PhD.

What are your ambitions for AI? How do you plan to change the world?

I believe AI has the potential to positively impact many aspects of society, particularly in healthcare. My ambitions are to harness AI to create more personalised and effective interventions, making healthcare more accessible and adaptive to individual needs. Ultimately, I want to help shape a future where AI is used responsibly to create positive, far-reaching impacts in various sectors.
