Career Path: Prosecutor, Nigeria Economic & Financial Crimes Commission
Location: Nigeria

I am currently a prosecutor with an anti-graft institution called the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission. My home country was plagued by financial corruption and money laundering so with my training as a Legal Practitioner I resolved to work and contribute to the restoration of confidence in the polity.

I am a Prosecutor working with Nigeria's national anti-corruption body, Nigeria Economic & Financial Crimes Commission. 

What was it about Northumbria that made you decide to study here?

The school is located in a fantastic and student friendly city. Northumbria also offered the modules and courses I was interested in at the time.

What was it like studying at Northumbria?

It was a very good experience. The classes were highly interactive with lecturers that encouraged engagement through ideas and presentations. The lecturers were also always available to address questions and academic work outside the timetable.

How connected was your course with industry?

Several modules I took during my time provided an insight into various issues I have encountered in the course of my work, particularly in the obligations and forms of carriage of goods between sellers and buyers from different nations.

What was the best thing about your course?

It absolutely provided exposure to various pertinent issues affecting the world. Topics addressed in my course like globalisation, CISG regulations, intellectual property, etc. are invaluable to a modern legal practitioner.

How did studying at Northumbria help you achieve your career goals/ give your career an edge?

It certainly afforded me the requisite qualification needed for my job as well as knowledge necessary to address pertinent issues.

What did you enjoy most about your time at ϲ?

I enjoyed living in the city - there's all kinds of food to try out and sights to see. I basically loved everything about my time at Northumbria.

What advice would you give somebody who is thinking of studying at Northumbria?

It's amazing there with friendly people and an affordable city. The academic staff will encourage you to succeed as well as provide the tools you need. I loved my time there and would certainly advise anyone considering Northumbria to immediately apply.

How would you describe your time at Northumbria in three words?

Amazing, happy and fulfilled.
