Emma Anderson

Assistant Professor

Department: Computer and Information Sciences

Emma Anderson has worked as an academic in Computer Science since joining the University in 2002, after working as an analyst/programmer at a software house in Newcastle.

Emma's teaching responsibility lies principally in web design and development, databases and programming. Emma's research interests include technology-enhanced learning, the learning experiences of Computer Science students, computational linguistics and student usage of generative AI.

Emma has an MSc and a MRes in Computing and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Emma has many years of experience in programme leadership and mentoring new staff in applying for HEA Fellowship. She is a committee member for the Women in Information Sciences and Computing (WISC) group at ϲ.
