Dr Katherine Baker

Associate Professor

Department: Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation

Katherine is currently Associate Professor and Head of Subject for Physiotherapy.

After completing an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy, Katherine worked clinically in the area of neuro rehabilitation in an NHS trust in the North East. She completed her PhD at Northumbria in 2009, in the area of movement strategies for people with Parkinson's. Her research interests include supporting people living with long term conditions, including the role of physical activity and exercise.

Katherine enjoys teaching topics relating to person centred care, shared decision making, gait analysis, mental health and neurology. She supervises research from undergraduate to doctoral level.
