Prof Emiliano Renzi

Professor

Department: Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering

I extend a warm welcome to my academic corner! Currently, I hold the position of Professor of Industrial Mathematics within the Mathematics of Nonlinear and Complex Phenomena (MCNP) group. Here's a glimpse into my academic journey.

In 2010, I earned my Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, majoring in Fluid Mechanics, from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. During this chapter, I had the privilege of a scholarly stint at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as an ENI-MITEI Energy Fellow.

Post-Ph.D., I ventured to University College Dublin, collaborating with Prof. Frederic Dias. Starting as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, I later earned an AXA Research Fellowship. My academic trajectory then led me to Loughborough University, where I served as both Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematical Sciences.

Since October 2023, I've had the honour of being appointed as Professor of Industrial Mathematics at ϲ. In December 2023 I was also appointed as Visiting Professor of Industrial Mathematics at Loughborough University.

My research focus centres on applied mathematics within fluid dynamics, contributing to the interdisciplinary research themes of Energy Futures and Extreme Environments.

Feel free to explore the intersection of mathematics and practical challenges as you navigate through my academic endeavours. I'm excited to have you on this journey!
