Dr Sam Redgate

Assistant Professor

Department: Social Work, Education and Community Wellbeing

Sam Redgate

I joined the university as a lecturer in January 2023. I came into academia following a career in public health and social care commissioning within local authorities. Prompted by this experience, my research focuses on the development, implementation and evaluation of public health and social care based interventions. I have a keen interest in interventions which aim to mitigate health inequalities, primarily with a specific focus on children and young people.

I have a passion for collaborative research approaches utilising realist and complex system approaches, using mixed method evaluations of interventions within public health, social care and education contexts.
