My research interests centre around informal learning, particularly in family settings. I'm particularly interested in 'maker' contexts and learning around digital technologies, with my present research based on a family digital making project being delivered across the North of Tyne region from late 2020.

I'm a science communication and public engagement specialist, working in the sector since 1990. My expertise includes video and film production; live show development; training and coaching performers; and strategy development consultatancy for organisations.

At Northumbria I'm a member of the team, working across the Faculty of Engineering and Environment to develop, deliver, and research outreach and widening participation projects. My particular responsibilities and interests include communications, digital engagement, and strategic development.
