  • Dr. Zingre's research focuses on decarbonisation of built environment using cool materials and bio-inspired designs, and employs experimental methods (measurements, thermography, laser scanning) and computational simulations.

International impact of Zingre's work includes: i) Development of novel heat transfer models and thermal comfort analysis for pedestrians in street canyons (5 first authored articles in Energy and Renewable Energy with IF: 9.0) and ii) Contribution to the housing policies of Singapore (for ), California’s Title 24 and India’s GRIHA building standards.

National impact includes: i) Submission of four (3*) outputs to REF2021, ii) Working with National Trust on achieving their sustainability goals for Coleshill and Cambo villages, iii) Carrying out energy assessment of Newcastle City Council schools, and iv) Contribution towards development of North of Tyne Combined Authority’s Green Growth Skills programme (£236k funding, and article in Energy and Buildings with IF: 6.7) which will have a real-world impact for Northeast in terms of: a) skills development, b) job creations and c) achieve central government’s sustainability goals.

University level impact includes: assisting Carbon managers to decarbonise city campus buildings by diagnosing various building defects (air leakage through envelops, thermal bridges, etc) and providing recommendations on energy saving measures.
