Why did you choose ϲ, Newcastle?
I love the city of Newcastle, everyone is extremely friendly. The resources at Coach Lane Campus were fantastic and I knew straight away this was where I wanted to study.
What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?
I love Newcastle as a city, there is a great night life for the students. I enjoy going to the Quaysidee, Jesmond Dene and shopping in the city centre.
What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?
I am most impressed by how friendly and welcoming everyone in the city is.
Did you find ϲ welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?
Yes, extremely!
What have you enjoyed most about coming to ϲ?
The variety of amazing and lovely people I have met, and the opportunities the University supplies.
Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?
The tutors have helped when I have required their input.
Who has inspired you most at ϲ?
One of my lead lecturers, whose carer has taken her around the world and into some amazing jobs with such innovative roles.
What is your favourite place on campus?
The Quad outside the Library.
Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?
I am the treasurer of the Occupational Therapy Society.
What is the best thing about your course?
The practical elements, we spend a lot of lectures and seminars doing stuff, and then we go off to placement to practice this.
What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?
CPR and life skills in general.
Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?
Placement is an integral part of my course, I have learnt the most when out on placement having hands on experience.
Have you taken up any opportunities to travel with your current course/undertake field trips? If so, please tell us about them.
I am about to go to Malta in June for an 8 week placement. The opportunities available are amazing, I cant wait to go.
How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at ϲ, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?
I have grown up, matured and developed a clearer sense of self
